1,2,3 Repeat after me walk to the same beat Drink it up I know it might seem fizzy At first and maybe it's the worst But it was here first and consumerism isn't going anywhere anyway What did I say about following what I say Every single day No matter what your saved soul says or your brain might claim This is life Your lucky it's not worse Hanging, strung to the purse strings clung to the few things That they will let you believe define you Yours and mine Come from the same timeline production mine and I'm stuck drinking from that cup I was handed once a man said Be grateful or you'll be dead Be thankful for the snake head Pray the chief Keep believing He needs it Any things that I've ever owned Are only from my parents on loan I guess we live and we loan And we loath The love that owns us The love of owning More and more Mortgages I don't rate the way we live Tell me is this really it Spend all day digging a ditch for money to throw in it Quit being interested Quick make a new investment Try to break through it I guess the debt just proves it I finally made it A life of all work and no play Just to say that I bought the ticket Own your own row boat Rent somebodies stream If the rapids start to swell Inflation rates and baby booms Just think of that dream house With all those spare rooms

The Thing 03:55
Doses of psychosis mostly I suppose it's only Momentary But it gets quite fear inducing Sitting listening The left side preach to the choir On the right Every god damn night When I close my eyes Like an ever running never running out roll of film Roll the tape please No give and all take And just when I think I might get a bit of rest bite I wake The day breaks And demands to take more than I can give So here it is My last will And testament Before I take off with the best of them Into another measurement Hell Better freeze Cos it's over now It's over now It's over
3.
I'll leave in my mistakes So they might mistake these mistakes For the traits Of "greatnessness" That's the measure of greatness plus A little extra for the bus Change The cycle you are pedalling No medals in the first place So Let them win anyway And they're off Isn't the first degree Beyond it seems to me The first agreement To be without needing For improvement Whilst also leaving room for improvement Because we're all learning And no one knows who owns The answers So no ones own unknown can offer the answer surely And they're off And podiums are only moments of suspended falsity A fantasy for the good of the inner most ego Only a moment ago I was being cheered by the mass ignorance Now I've crossed the line At what cost is winner right each time? Now Becoming all that I dreaded Ready set go Get ready again, slow down Don't blow a whole load Of what you have to say Before the gun goes again Better saving it until the victors speech When the bodies of the losers line the streets And the applause cause appalling feelings appealing only to appearing demons behind those eyes

Tell me you’re not in this for yourself Don’t Tell me you’re not in this for yourself You move me In a way I never knew You truly Are the best thing on the news So Feed me All the things that I can choose It's No wonder I get bluesy With all the left and right In front of me How you can you be so Closed Mind you If margins right The profits on the line We've gotta do What we've gotta do Truly Are you the best thing on my news Come on and Feed me More than I can stomach I'm bluesy and there's no wonder Why With you guys on my side Take me Prisoner in my own life I am yours to decide What's right? What will we be left with? When all the drilling's been tested Tired, tired and tried and Trident You think there's gonna be a movement You won't even know what's hit you We'll be at your gates No one standing in our way Cos you cut their wages Now we're raging From this war you're waging On the people you call yours See that's as short sighted as Drilling into the floor You move me In a way I never knew It's powerful abuse of those who keep you in tune A thoughtlessness dripping with lacking compassion Have at them let them know Don't let them get away with another desperate low No go No don't show Your faces In places Deemed extreme But the needles pulling at the seams So it seems to me That Come one come all Doesn't fall Under All of the above With the a government that shows no love

about

Childsplay is my first EP as Jack By Accident.

Over the past 6 months I've moved house for the first time in my life, found myself in a new creative space, reeling from the experience of uprooting myself and channeling all of that emotion into new music.

Jack By Accident enabled me to embrace my new mantra "using what I have to make what I can". The entire EP was written and produced independently in my bedroom on my computer, it is exactly what it is and the result of exactly what I was able to utilise at the time.

I go insane without making music, it's my one true outlet that maintains some kind of stability in my life. With all of the political and social unrest that presents itself anew each day, all around the world, Childsplay would be blind if it wasn't effected by some of those issues that I see on the news each day and in my daily life.

I truly hope that you find some connection in the music and that it finds a place, however brief or small, in your heart and mind whilst you listen to it.

I am grateful for your time and thank you for listening, if you feel moved to do so, please share with those that you know, so that the music may reach as far as it can.

Expect more, want more, demand more.

Guitar Samples on Track 2 & Track 3: George Horscraft

I want to thank my parents for allowing me the space and freedom to explore myself and express what I find freely. You are my true net of safety and without you I would be otherwise in the metaphorical sea below the cliff of life.

I want to thank Charlotte Hole for choosing to spend your days with me, humour me, listen to me and attempt to understand me. Your love knows no bounds and each day you teach me to be a better version of myself, thank you. All my love, always.
