about

FRANK is the culmination of two tracks, written at opposite ends of a 6 month stretch, which included moving house for the first time in my life and travelling to other side of the world to alter my lifelong day to day for 2 months.

I believe we're all learning, always. I hope I'm always learning and will always be willing to learn and know more, about myself, about the world, about the art I live to create and about the people that might hear it and even connect with it.

These two songs, were written and recorded 6 months apart. They are different, they are similar, they are the result of what can happen in 6 months.

My life and creative process right now are being driven by something that I'm focussing on heavily and trying to instil in my day to day, "patience".

I work to be willing and patient with my craft and my creativity. This attitude does away with the rushing that is so present in our lives and the fast paced world of music and music consumption is a direct result of larger life around us, things all to often see to be so fast and fleeting, heavily anticipated, rushed through and a little underwhelming.

I am focussing on the time I need. This a double edged practice, allowing for sufficient time, because it also works, I believe, to favour my ability to jump in the moment when I need to. If something is right, there and then, don't agonise over it and question it.

Though these songs were created over time, at different times, within "time", the EP as a being itself came about, this evening, as I decided to upload two songs before leaving to explore the USA for 5 weeks and indulge in a vastly altered day to day.

FRANK is the guy brave enough to release two tracks, unmixed, on a whim, because it feels right and failure is as victorious as success, which should not be the aim in creation.

FRANK is the guy who, when I ask, is this picture I've just considered for my latest release "Bowie Brave" or "Kanye Crazy", he says, both those men, rightly or wrongly are crazy brave and different people will remember them differently, but both took the risks and released themselves to the world honestly, bravely and boldly.

I'm not David Bowie, or Kanye, but I'm going to take a leaf from their respective books and be a little more FRANK.

Music, I believe, is me being as honest as I can be, the kind of honesty I hope is felt, even by one person who listens, for the soul purpose that I know how beautiful it feels to connect to someone's music, music I listen to every day and love, music that connects me to certain times in my life. I hope that you feel that connection with this music and if you do, don't be shy, let me know because it would awesome to know that when I'm being totally honest and expressing myself, you're feeling what that is, because that's so cool and rare for us to share that, let's not hide it.

I'm off to shake things up and see how a new day to day can change everything I am in an instant.

Be whatever you want to be.

On the other side.
